A Historical Overview of Murals
Murals are broadly defined as a painting or other work of art executed directly on a wall, ceiling, or other permanent surface. One unique aspect of murals is that the physical architecture of the surface is incorporated into the artwork. The earliest known murals existed in the Paleolithic era, and were discovered in caves in southern France, circa 30,000 BC.
